Zwolsche Roei- en Zeilvereniging
The Zwolsche Roei- en Zeilvereniging (ZRZV) is one of the oldest sports clubs in Zwolle and was founded in 1887. With around 500 members, the club offers an active community for rowing and sailing on the waters around Zwolle, including Westerveldse Kolk, Noorderkolk, Zwarte Water and Beulakerwijde. The sailing section uses Polyvalk dinghies and offers seven instructional sessions on Saturdays in spring plus a theory evening; youth sailing and drop-in sailing are also organised. On the rowing side there are courses from age 10, accessible rowing with adapted boats, and club events such as the Wintercompetitie, the Zwolsche Vecht Regatta and the Mastenbroek Marathon. Since 2012 the ZRZV has been an official expertise club for accessible rowing in Region East and has wheelchair-accessible facilities including a lift and boarding aids.
History
The Zwolsche Roei- en Zeilvereniging (ZRZV) was founded in 1887 and is among the oldest sports clubs in Zwolle. From the start the club combined rowing and sailing and grew into a lasting hub at Holtenbroekerdijk. Today it has around 500 members and offers a broad programme for beginners and advanced athletes on waters around Zwolle, including Westerveldse Kolk, Noorderkolk, Zwarte Water and Beulakerwijde. The sailing section organises keelboat sessions in spring, boat maintenance in winter and adult sailing instruction on Polyvalks; youth sailing and drop-in sailing complete the offer. On the rowing side, structured course levels from Ploegroeien-1 to Masterclass Skiff as well as racing and touring developed. Own events include the Wintercompetitie on the Zwarte Water, the Zwolsche Vecht Regatta on the Overijsselse Vecht and the Mastenbroek Marathon through the IJsseldelta. Since 2012 the ZRZV has been an official expertise club for accessible rowing (A-rowing) in Region East, investing in barrier-free facilities, adapted boats and expert guidance.
