Stowarzyszenie Klub Żeglarski Ziemowit
Stowarzyszenie Klub Żeglarski Ziemowit in Tychy is a recreational sailing club in the Silesian Voivodeship. The club sails on Lake Paprocany in Tychy, on the Dziećkowice reservoir and on the Masurian Lakes with a base in Krzyże on Lake Nidzkie. It is affiliated with the Silesian Sailing Association in Katowice and offers professional training courses for the Żeglarz Jachtowy patent as well as inland and sea cruises. Since its founding the membership has grown from 24 to over 120; around 1000 course participants have been trained as yacht sailors. The programme includes club charters on the Masurian Lakes, regattas such as Liga Paprocańska and Puchar Śląska, and seasonal sailing courses at weekends and during the holidays.
History
Stowarzyszenie Klub Żeglarski Ziemowit in Tychy was founded as a recreational sailing club and began with 24 members. From the start the club has been affiliated with the Silesian Sailing Association (Śląski Okręgowy Związek Żeglarski) in Katowice. Its waters are Lake Paprocany in Tychy, the Dziećkowice reservoir and the Masurian Lakes with a base in Krzyże on Lake Nidzkie. Over the club's history nearly 1000 course participants have been trained for the Żeglarz Jachtowy patent. Membership has risen to over 120 active members. The club includes yacht captains, sea and motorboat skippers, yacht sailors and sailing instructors, enabling professional training and inland and sea cruises. A gallery jubilee documents the club's 30th anniversary. Today the offer includes club charters on the Masurian Lakes, Liga Paprocańska, Puchar Śląska and seasonal sailing courses.
