Yes St. Pölten Segelbootclub

Yes St. Pölten Segelbootclub (Yachtclub Eisenbahner Sport) is a traditional Danube sailing club with its facility in Hollenburg near Krems. Founded in 1965 and with a youth section since 1990, YES St. Pölten is a well-established meeting point for sailors in Lower Austria.

History

The sailing facility of Yes St. Pölten Segelbootclub (Yachtclub Eisenbahner Sport) was founded on 6 September 1965 on the right bank of the Danube at river kilometre 1994.200 in the Altenwörth reservoir at Hollenburg near Krems an der Donau. The grounds cover about 3,600 square metres with a clubhouse (showers, club room, kitchen, changing room, sleeping rooms, regatta office), 45 standing berths, an electric crane into the Danube, a hand crane, slipway and a 75-metre pier. The youth group has existed since 1990 and is supervised by certified sailing officers and coaches. The 2013 Danube flood interrupted regatta activity; in 2014 there were also too few entries. In August 2015, at the Goldhauben Cup and the Lower Austrian championship in the Kielzugvogel class in Hollenburg, the club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a buffet, live music and a party on the club terrace. At the 2025 yardstick state championship with SCUT and SCKr, the club’s 60th anniversary was also marked with a buffet. Today the club is a member of ÖSV, NÖSV, ASKÖ and ESKV-Wörth and regularly hosts club championships, yardstick state championships and the Danube Cup.
