Yachtclub Oggau
Yachtclub Oggau (YCOg) is a non-profit sailing club based in Oggau on Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, with its registered address in Oslip. Its home port is Hafen Oggau with more than 200 berths across four basins, shore power, car access to the piers and sanitary facilities at the harbour restaurant Marias Marina. The club promotes youth sailing, organises club regattas as well as fitting-out and laying-up events, and supports members via a training fund for licences and safety courses. Founded in 1984 as Yachtclub-Garde and renamed Yachtclub Oggau in 1999, the club is a member of the Burgenland sailing association, the Austrian Sailing Federation and ASVÖ Burgenland and has around 150 members.
History
The yacht club was legally established on 15 May 1984 under the name Yachtclub – Garde (YCGd) by official recognition of the association authority. A major consolidation step followed in 1986 with admission to the Austrian Army Sports Association (ÖHSV) and the simultaneous rename to Heeressportverein Yachtclub Garde (HSV – YCGd). In 1999 the club address was moved to Oggau on Lake Neusiedl (home port) and the name changed to Yachtclub Oggau (YCOg). YCOg is a member of the Burgenland sailing association (LSVBgld), the Austrian Sailing Federation (ÖSV) and ASVÖ Burgenland. The current statutes were adopted by the ordinary general meeting on 14 October 2005; a first amendment followed on 15 September 2006. The club’s purpose is to foster sailing: facilities for members, youth sailing, staging regattas, supporting participation in away regattas and social events. Today the club has around 150 members and uses Hafen Oggau as its home port on Lake Neusiedl.
