History
Yachtclub Warnow e.V. is a traditional sailing club from Rostock on the eastern bank of the Warnow in Gehlsdorf. Its history is closely tied to children’s and youth sailing: the youth regulations date from 27 May 2005 and the club statutes from 25 March 2006. In 2025 YCW youth earned several podium places, a regional champion title and third place in the club ranking at the Landesjugendmeisterschaft in Rerik. The youth fleet sails Optimist on the Warnow and ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 off Warnemünde; training is supported by state coach Alexander Goltz, and the club fields MV squad members.
