Viborg Sejlklub
Viborg Sejlklub is an active sailing club based in picturesque Hjarbæk at the innermost part of the Limfjord in Denmark. Founded in 1941, the club has around 160 members and a recently renovated clubhouse overlooking the harbour and fjord, with harbour and berthing facilities. The programme includes weekly senior and junior sailing, courses and social activities throughout the year. A distinctive offer is the Søndersø section, where Tuesday sessions include sailing with paraplegia patients in 2.4mR boats; the youth section trains Mondays and Thursdays in cooperation with Virksund Sejlklub. Members receive newsletters and free winter access to Søndre Skole swimming pool on Saturdays.
History
Viborg Sejlklub was founded in 1941 and is based in cosy Hjarbæk at the innermost Limfjord. The club grew into an active sailing association with around 160 members today. There are weekly senior races and junior sailing as well as smaller and larger courses and social activities throughout the year, announced on the website and on notices in the clubhouse. A special development is the Søndersø section, where Tuesdays include sailing with paraplegia patients in 2.4mR boats. The club has two trained measurers so members can have their boats measured for racing. The clubhouse was recently renovated and offers a large meeting room for 40 people, a modern kitchen, bathrooms with showers, a mast shed and a terrace with views of harbour and fjord. In winter, members can use Søndre Skole swimming pool free of charge on Saturdays from 10 to 11. The youth section cooperates with Virksund Sejlklub and sails on the lakes near Viborg and, for more experienced sailors, on the fjord off Hjarbæk. A website reference to Viborg Sejlklub in 1948 underlines the club's long tradition.

Recently renovated clubhouse with meeting room for 40 people, modern kitchen, TV, two ground-floor bathrooms with showers, mast shed, storage room, stone terrace and Wi-Fi across the harbour. Grass area behind the clubhouse often used for parking; ball court and pétanque court on Stejlepladsen in front of the kro. No laundry or drying facilities (referral to Hjarbæk Fjord Camping).
