Turebergs båtklubb
Turebergs båtklubb (TBK) is a non-profit boat club with its home harbour in Sollentuna on Edsviken, a sheltered bay just north of Stockholm. The club maintains three jetties and a quay with about 165 berths fitted with Y-booms, plus a crane, trailer ramp, clubhouse, and electricity and fresh water at every berth. Facilities also include a fenced winter yard in Tegelhagen and the club island Stora Delholmen (Silverkannan) with guest cabins, sauna and a festivity pavilion. Members share duty watches and annual work obligations; navigation and VHF courses as well as Midsummer and crayfish parties shape club life. Founded in 1933, TBK is among the oldest boat clubs in Sollentuna and has about 280 members with roughly 200 boats.
History
Turebergs båtklubb was founded in 1933 by enthusiastic boat owners as a non-profit association and is regarded as the oldest boat club in Sollentuna. Since then its home harbour has been on Strandvägen in Sollentuna on Edsviken. The harbour today comprises three jetties and a quay with about 165 berths, all fitted with Y-booms; a crane for engine lifts, a trailer ramp and a rail haul-out trolley complete the infrastructure. The club island Stora Delholmen, also called Silverkannan, lies at Gällnöport southeast of Grinda and offers jetties, a glazed dance and party pavilion, toilets, sauna, barbecue sites and two overnight cabins. In winter boats are stored in Tegelhagen on the shared Sollentuna Båtsportunion (SoBU) yard together with Sollentuna Båtklubb, Edsbergs Båtklubb, Edsvikens Segelsällskap and Båtklubben Rallarna; for slipping and launching the clubs use Sublift machines (slamkrypare). The community organises annual meetings, the annual party, Midsummer, crayfish feasts and potluck gatherings, and offers navigation and VHF courses when members are interested. TBK is expressly not a marina but a solidarity-based club with harbour and yard watch duties plus one annual work day. Today the club has about 280 members with roughly 200 boats.
