Trollbäckens Båtsällskap
Trollbäckens Båtsällskap (TBS) is a non-profit boat club in Tyresö municipality southeast of Stockholm with two harbour facilities in the Swedish archipelago. At Storängen there is a harbour and jetty for about 60 boats plus winter storage for around 340 boats, a clubhouse, mast shed, garages and power supply. The larger site at Ängsudden in Vissvass holds about 300 boats, with Torpet as a watch house and workshop, a large barn for events and a wood-fired sauna at jetty 4. Members obtain summer and winter berths via the Båtunionen waiting-list system (BAS); there is a sailing school for children as well as work and watch duties for boat owners. Demand for berths in the Stockholm area is high, places are limited and assigned according to the size and depth of the Y-boom berths.
History
Trollbäckens Båtsällskap (TBS) is a non-profit association in Tyresö municipality, run jointly by its members. The club has two sites: the smaller harbour at the Storängen yard with about 60 summer berths and winter storage for some 340 boats, and the larger harbour at Ängsudden in Vissvass with space for about 275 to 300 boats. At Storängen the club developed a clubhouse, mast shed, machine halls and stores; in Vissvass Torpet serves as watch house with workshop and cellar storage, a large barn (Ladan) for festivities and a wood-fired sauna at jetty 4. The Ängsudden site lies within the Tyresta nature reserve and is therefore subject to special lease and storage rules from the municipality and county board. TBS publishes the club magazine TBS-nytt; issues from 2002 to 2017 are archived as PDFs. Membership and berth waiting lists run through the Swedish Båtunionen BAS system. Summer and winter berth fees are set each November; all berths are fitted with Y-booms.
