Trollhättans Båtklubb
Trollhättans Båtklubb is a volunteer-run boat and sailing club on the Göta River just north of Stallbackabron in Trollhättan. The club grounds cover about 39,000 square metres with a private harbour, winter storage for sailboats, motorboats and trailer boats, and a fixed slipway with a 15-tonne crane, mast crane and mast house. Members have access to electricity, water, a gas depot and roughly 290 berths as well as 138 boat sheds. The club schedules slip and dry-docking slots via the BAS system and applies clear harbour berthing rules. Since its founding on 2 September 1943, volunteer work has shaped the continuous expansion of the harbour and facilities.
History
Trollhättans Båtklubb was founded on 2 September 1943 as a fully volunteer-run club. Over the decades a large club site with its own harbour developed on the Göta River north of Stallbackabron. Originally the facility consisted of a single pier into the river with little protection from ship wash; through members' volunteer work it became a well-sheltered harbour with pontoons all around. In 2005/06 a group of 36 members built the L and M boat-shed rows in two building blocks. In 2011/12 the first construction phase on the new southern areas followed with three building blocks and 23 builders (rows N and O). In 2012 members built and commissioned the wash pads with a three-chamber well and chemical treatment stage 2 under the 15-tonne crane. Since autumn 2014 a gas depot on the northern pier has improved fire safety. Today the site covers about 39,000 square metres, roughly 290 berths, 138 boat sheds and winter storage for about 300 boats.
