History
The sailing facility of Yes St. Pölten Segelbootclub (Yachtclub Eisenbahner Sport) was founded on 6 September 1965 and lies on the right bank of the Danube at river kilometre 1994.200 in the Altenwörth reservoir at Hollenburg near Krems an der Donau. The club is a member of the Austrian Sailing Federation (ÖSV), the Lower Austria Sailing Federation (NÖSV), ASKÖ and ESKV-Wörth. The grounds cover about 3,600 square metres with clubhouse, showers, club room, kitchen, changing rooms, sleeping quarters and race office as well as 45 standing berths, an electric crane to the Danube, a hand crane, slipway and a 75-metre jetty. The youth group has existed since 1990 and is supervised by certified sailing officers and coaches. The Danube flood of 2013 caused a multi-year pause in racing; in 2014 entries were also scarce. In August 2015, at the 27th Goldhauben Cup and the Lower Austrian championship in the Kielzugvogel class, the club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a Heuriger visit, buffet and live music on the club terrace. In 2025, at the Yardstick state championship with SCUT and SCKr, the club's 60th anniversary was also celebrated. To this day the club regularly organises club championships, the Danube Cup and the Lower Austria Yardstick state championship in Hollenburg and offers sailing licence training as well as youth sailing.
