History
Yachtclub Hemmenhofen was founded in 1963 and is registered with the district court in Radolfzell. It is recognised as a non-profit organisation by the tax office in Singen and operates as Yachtclub Hemmenhofen-Untersee e. V. Over the decades the club has become established on the Untersee with its clubhouse in Hemmenhofen and sailing, motorboat and youth sections. A highlight is the traditional Rund-Untersee regatta “Blau-weißes Band”, held for the 59th time in 2025 and counting towards the Untersee Yardstick Cup. Prize-givings take place in the club room after racing. Club members including the König siblings with Haiway Five have raced Shark 24 at world and international championships for the YCH-U. The club regularly publishes calendars, newsletters, notices of race and results for events such as the Bürgermeisterpokal and the Untersee Yardstick Cup, sustaining an active racing culture on the Untersee.
