Yacht Club Fürstentum Liechtenstein
The Yacht Club Principality of Liechtenstein (YCFL) is a sailing club from Liechtenstein whose activities are primarily based on Lake Walen and Lake Constance. The club was founded in 1984 and describes itself as a community of more than 70 watersports enthusiasts of various nationalities, explicitly welcoming members with or without their own boat. At its Mühlehorn location on Lake Walen, the club provides its own sailing boats, including Laser and 420 classes, for members to use. The programme includes club events, regatta involvement such as the Liechtenstein Sailing National Championship, and introductory as well as training-oriented watersports formats. As a founding member of the Liechtenstein Watersports Federation and an affiliated club of the Lake Constance Sailing Association, YCFL is firmly embedded in the regional sailing landscape.
History
The Yacht Club Principality of Liechtenstein was founded in 1984. According to the club’s own presentation, it consists of more than 70 enthusiastic watersports participants from various national backgrounds. Its main activity areas are Lake Walen and Lake Constance, complemented by occasional sailing activities on saltwater. Over the years, the club has established recurring club events and watersports formats, including the “Beweg di met üs” series in which sailing, surfing and other water disciplines are introduced together. The club also regularly publishes reports on regatta participation and sporting progress of its members at national and international level. In terms of infrastructure, it names a member location in Mühlehorn on Lake Walen with club-owned boats available for use. Institutionally, YCFL is anchored as a founding member of the Liechtenstein Watersports Federation and as an affiliated club of the Lake Constance Sailing Association.
