Yachtclub Gollenshausen e.V. is a family-oriented, non-profit sailing club in the northwest of Lake Chiemsee, founded in 1971. At Gollenshausen yacht harbour, members enjoy the clubhouse directly on the water, a pontoon pier with floating walkway, a slipway and a large bathing beach. Club-owned boats including a Dyas, Laser SB20, two 420s and an Optimist allow members without their own boat to go sailing; crewing opportunities with other members are also available. The YCG hosts several regattas each year, including Chiemsee Quer, Hafenpokal and Sun Down Race, and is one of the organisers of the Chiemsee Youth Trophy. Together with SV Wacker Burghausen's sailing section, the club runs an annual youth sailing week and actively promotes junior sailors; the club has around 100 members and is registered with the Bavarian and German Sailing Associations.

History
The founding of Yachtclub Gollenshausen e.V. dates to the period before the 1972 Munich Olympics, when sailing gained wide popularity and new harbours were built around Lake Chiemsee. In Gollenshausen, sailors supported municipal plans for harbour expansion with better protection from southerly storms and a deeper basin. On 29 May 1971, 29 people met to found a sailing club; a second founding meeting on 17 July 1971 at Gasthof Plank followed for formal reasons with 23 participants. At the first general meeting on 30 October 1971, the YCG already had 73 members. Membership rose to 144 by 1979, later fell to 45, and has now stabilised at around 100 with a welcome share of young sailors. On 28 September 1996 the YCG celebrated its 25th anniversary on Fraueninsel. Early sporting highlights included the Chiemsee-Nord regatta for dinghy classes until 1987; yardstick regattas have since become central. Own events include Chiemsee Quer (since 1981), the Nudelholz Regatta and the Gollenshausen Hafenpokal. Regatta cooperation with Segelclub Waldkraiburg began in 1986 and with Wettsegelvereinigung Gollenshausen in 1996. The club rented the Strobl shed from 1973; a planned extension to the bathing building failed in 1981. From 1994 the YCG sought new premises and from 1995 built an extension to the harbour kiosk as the Clubstadl, inaugurated on 14 June 1997. The YCG has long supported harbour maintenance and improvement, including mole extension, harbour lighting and the slipway. Major harbour renovation with a wave-breaking floating pontoon pier was completed in 2000/2001 after lengthy approvals. Chairmen have included Peter Metzger, Curt Bues, Ulrich Frenzel, Jörn-Hermann Sander, Bernhard Zahn and Gabriele Hoffrichter; Sven Erdmann has led the club since 2021.
