History

Yachtclub Tomberge e.V. (YCT) is a registered association under number VR 6345 at the Coesfeld local court and maintains its harbour at Dorfbauerschaft 106 in Senden on the Dortmund-Ems Canal in the southern Münsterland. The club describes itself as a small, fine yacht club with around 30 members and a lively club life marked by ease and cosiness. The harbour grounds offer berths for members' boats, a slipway with an annual-card option, sanitary facilities in a separate building at the harbour entrance, and parking and boat-trailer spaces. The clubhouse at the harbour is being renovated with care and is intended again to serve as the meeting place of club life. Several times a year social events take place, including the ceremonial season opening, the summer festival in the harbour and the Christmas celebration; the board also organises work days and an annual general meeting. Visiting boats are admitted after arrangement with the harbour master; harbour rules and usage notes are available at the clubhouse. New members can contact the board and commit to ten hours of work per year, which may be done individually or on organised work days, or settled financially.
