Waginger Segelclub e.V.
Waginger Segelclub e.V. is a long-established sailing club at Lake Waging in Upper Bavaria, operating its grounds at Seglerhafen in Waging am See. History
The club was founded on 26 May 1951 at the former Strandbad Hafenmair as a subdivision of the Chiemsee Yacht Club and became an independent association in 1955. In the early years, both membership and fleet size grew significantly, with classes such as Flying Dutchman and Finn-Dinghy joining the original boats. A key milestone was the relocation in 1964 to the current club grounds after the purchase of its own property, followed by extensive volunteer work to build jetties and facilities. Over the following decades, major regattas and championships, clubhouse upgrades, technical modernization, and an expanding youth program shaped the club's profile. The chronicle also records recurring construction projects, board changes, and sporting success in classes including Korsar, Tempest, and Kielzugvogel.
