The Universitäts-Segelclub Bochum e.V. (USCB) is a vibrant sailing club where people of all ages experience sailing together – whether as families, students, children or sailing enthusiasts with or without prior experience. The home waters are the picturesque Kemnader See between Bochum and Witten; the club uses the sailing clubhouse at Hafen Heveney with jetty, slipway, free parking and sanitary facilities. Members can use the diverse club fleet free of charge, including eight Optimists, five Vaurien dinghies and other boats. The programme ranges from Opti training for children who can swim safely through youth and regatta sailing to cruising trips on the North Sea, Baltic Sea and Mediterranean. Sailing certificates from the youth licence through SBF inland and sea to SKS are prepared together with experienced club members; boat care and repair are part of the practical training.

Activities
Learning to sail on club boats, youth training in Optimist and Vaurien, regatta sailing at regional to international level, cruising on the North Sea, Baltic Sea and Mediterranean, sailing certificate training (SBF inland, SBF sea, SKS, radio certificates), boat care and repair.
Youth section
Active youth group with Opti training from bronze swimming badge, Vaurien sailing and regatta participation; young and old sail together in training, on trips and during boat maintenance.
