Union Yacht Club Neufeldersee
Union Yacht Club Neufeldersee (UYCNf) is a registered sailing club on Lake Neufeld in Neufeld an der Leitha, Burgenland. The sports facility at Seesiedlung Ufer 15 offers a clubhouse, moorings, crane and technical infrastructure for sporting and social gatherings directly on the water. The focus is on sailing, youth work with children's and youth sailing weeks, water sports weeks, basic sailing courses and A-certificate training on the lake. The club is active in boat classes such as 29er and Star, hosts Hobie Cat events and supports inclusion projects in para-sailing. Its motto "The sailing meeting point: In nature with friends" shapes a diverse programme of regattas, training and cultural club events.
History
Union Yacht Club Neufeldersee is a registered association on Lake Neufeld in Burgenland with a long tradition in Austrian sailing. A commemorative publication documents the club's 60th anniversary; the photo gallery records a celebration of the 70th anniversary in 2020, and a club concert was held in combination with the club's 75th anniversary. The UYCNf logbook describes the club's course: members should be enabled to meet for sport and social activities, young people should be introduced to sailing, and the practice of leisure sailing on the lake in nature with friends should be supported. Sailing is the central focus, while the club also devotes increasing attention to youth and smaller cultural events. The club was a base for the Austrian para sailing national team years ago and is once again supporting inclusion projects in para sailing, including the Austrian Sailing Federation's SailUnited project. Years of youth work are reflected, among other things, in Wolfgang Obermayer becoming chairman of the 29er class association in Austria and Max Fitzinger leading the Zoom8 class nationwide, with Lake Neufeld cited as his sailing home. The club regularly organises children's and youth sailing weeks, water sports weeks, basic sailing courses and A-certificate courses, as well as events such as the Hobie Puddle Challenge and Hobie Cat events in cooperation with the Austrian Hobie Class Association.
