TML Voile
TML Voile (Trans Mer Le Havre) is a sailing association established under French law of 1901, based at the port of Le Havre, about two hours from Paris. Affiliated to the Fédération française de voile, the club operates an approved centre for cruising and training with a fleet of seaworthy yachts of 10 to 12 metres, including Mambo (Sun Fast 37) and Nomade (Sun Odyssey 34.2). From its base in Le Havre's year-round deep-water harbour, it offers weekend and fortnight cruises as well as week-long courses throughout the year – from sail handling (voilistique) through navigation to autonomy, including FFV level 4 validation. Around 130 members sail to destinations in the Seine Bay, England, the Channel Islands, Cornwall, the Scilly Isles and Ireland. Full-time qualified instructors and experienced skippers support outings in a friendly, hands-on atmosphere.
History
TML (Trans Mer Le Havre) is a non-profit sailing sports association under French law of 1901, whose purpose is to make sailing boats available to its members. TML Voile is affiliated to the Fédération française de voile. The association TRANS MER LE HAVRE was registered with the sub-prefecture of Le Havre (publication no. 20070045, Seine-Maritime department, Haute-Normandie region). The club is based at 94 Rue Bernardin de Saint Pierre in Le Havre and runs cruises and training courses year-round. The fleet includes the yachts Mambo (Sun Fast 37) and Nomade (Sun Odyssey 34.2), along with other seaworthy boats of 10 to 12 metres. In 2025 the association had around 130 members. Members completed nearly 780 days at sea, while the two main boats logged about 140 days at sea to destinations from the Channel Islands and England across the Seine Bay to the Alabaster Coast at Dieppe. A qualified instructor works full-time and is supported by qualified skippers. In partnership with the FFV, TML Voile organises level 4 habitable navigation validation tests, CQP IV training and preparation for the Capitaine 200 Voile qualification. The Le Havre base offers year-round deep-water harbour access with free parking and entry via the Digue Olsen.
