Swiss Sea Sailing Club
The Swiss Sea Sailing Club (SSSC) is a sailing and motorboat club founded in 1996 and based in Delley-Portalban on Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland. The club fosters camaraderie, contact with other clubs and the preservation of traditions around handling sailing and motor yachts at sea and in Switzerland. With around 100 members, about two thirds sailors and one third motorboat users, community is central; owning a boat is not required for membership. The association offers training, social events and engaging activities and actively promotes sailing. History
The Swiss Sea Sailing Club (SSSC) was founded in 1996 and thus looks back on almost 30 years of history. From the start, the club has brought together sailors and motorboat users to foster camaraderie, build ties with other clubs and preserve traditions. Its purpose includes promoting the use of sailing and motor yachts both at sea and in Switzerland. Over the years the community has grown to around 100 members; about two thirds are sailors and one third motorboat users. Owning a boat has deliberately never been a condition of joining. The SSSC is rooted in Delley-Portalban on Lake Neuchâtel and maintains links with neighbouring organisations such as the Société de Sauvetage Delley-Portalban-Gletterens, the Club Motonautique Lac de Neuchatel and the Amicale de Voile Portalban. Social events, training and gatherings continue to shape club life. A 30th-anniversary celebration is planned for 15 August 2026; further dates such as the autumn event and the 2026 general meeting continue the tradition of shared meetings.
