Sønderballe Bådelaug
Sønderballe Bådelaug is the sailing club at the natural harbour Sønderballe Lystbådehavn in Genner Bay near Haderslev in Denmark. The club operates the harbour facilities with wooden jetties and concrete floating pontoons, a clubhouse, slipway, toilets and showers, and welcomes members aged 18 and over interested in sailing and cruising. Guests may use berths marked in green; the season runs from 1 April to 15 October, and harbour duty is covered by a member roster reachable at +45 44 18 07 56. A barbecue and playground are available in front of the clubhouse, and the website serves as the hub for communication, calendar and membership administration.
History
According to its statutes, Sønderballe Bådelaug works for the best possible conditions for members' interest in sailing and cruising, represents their interests towards authorities and organisations, and fosters a good harbour, environment and social life for members and harbour guests. The club runs Sønderballe Lystbådehavn as a natural harbour with wooden and concrete floating pontoons and offers berths in the sizes small, large, Maxi and Maxi-Maxi, which can be purchased (share certificate) or rented. There is no permanent harbour master; instead a duty roster has members take turns as harbour guard, reachable at +45 44 18 07 56. All members pay an annual membership fee; members with a berth also pay a harbour contribution. The harbour season runs from 1 April to 15 October; outside that period boats must be removed except for assigned winter berths. Member handbook version 3.1 of 26 February 2026 and the statutes (general meeting 19 February 2025) regulate berths, share certificates, a work obligation of at least two days per year and harbour rules. The annual general meeting is held in February; the board consists of chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary and one further member and appoints a harbour committee for day-to-day harbour operations.
