Segelkameradschaft Titisee (SKT) e.V.
Segelkameradschaft Titisee (SKT) e.V. is a sailing club on Lake Titisee in the High Black Forest, the largest natural lake in German mountain regions. The club offers jetty and land berths as well as kayak and surfboard storage and, until 2014, operated a marina with 16 berths in front of Seehotel Wiesler in Titisee. Membership and berth fees are kept deliberately low; short-term berths for non-members are available for up to 14 days. Club life includes regatta sailing, among them match races of two Zugvogel dinghies in the Kadetts Cup as well as races with Laser and other boats. Founded in 1972, the club has been seeking a new club site since 2014 and relies on voluntary engagement and donations in kind.
History
Segelkameradschaft Titisee (SKT) e.V. was founded in 1972. Until 2014 the club grounds were located in front of Seehotel Wiesler in central Titisee, with a marina of 16 berths. The Wiesler family of Seehotel Wiesler and especially Rudi Wiesler of the Bootshaus provided the club grounds until 2014. Support also came from the Schweizer and Drubba families (tour, electric and pedal boats), from the town of Titisee-Neustadt for the land-berth area, and from the Drubba family for jetty elements. Daniel Schätzle of the swimming pool and Harry Meier (Drubba company) helped as well, as did the Titisee-Neustadt ready-mix concrete plant, especially Mr Kaltenbach, with new mooring stones. Since 2014 the club has been looking for a new site; as of August 2014 promising talks with the authorities were under way. Internal regattas played a major role: spring, summer and autumn events were held over the years, including the Kadetts Cup as a match race of two Zugvogel dinghies and races with Laser. Notable results include wins by Jürgen Peschek and Klaus Haberstadt (autumn regatta 2010), Frank Trischler and Matthias Gäßler (summer regatta 2010), and Frank Vathauer on Laser (spring regatta 2010). Today SKT keeps fees deliberately low and relies on members' engagement and donations in kind.
