Seglerverein Stade e. V.
Seglerverein Stade e. V. is an active sailing club in Stade with its club grounds in Stadersand at the Schwinge barrage. The slipway site features a boat lift, a mast crane and berths for more than 100 boats, including guest berths on free spaces. A clubhouse with covered winter storage and free bicycles for guests complete the facilities. Around 400 members and a youth section of about 50 young sailors train in Optimist, Teeny, 420er, Pirat and other boats; some juniors already compete in national regattas. The club is a member of the German Sailing Federation, the Nedderelv group and the district sports association, and welcomes newcomers for trial sessions.
History
Seglerverein Stade e. V. looks back on a long club tradition and, according to club reports, celebrated its 110th anniversary. Club history also includes historic facilities such as the construction of the old halls. Today the club grounds are in Stadersand at the Schwinge barrage and comprise a slipway with boat lift and mast crane as well as berths for more than 100 boats. The site includes the clubhouse and covered winter storage. The club is a member of the German Sailing Federation, the Nedderelv group and the district sports association. The youth section with about 50 young sailors has an Elan Express cruiser and 31 youth boats; after intensive training some juniors have succeeded in national regattas. Club life includes opening-of-season fleet sails, Matjes tours, harbour festivals, lantern sails and regular clubhouse gatherings.
