Segler-Club Clarholz e.V.
Segler-Club Clarholz e.V. is a sporty, family-oriented sailing club on the north-western shore of Lake Dümmer in Damme-Dümmerlohausen. Founded in 1957 in Clarholz, the club maintains a sheltered harbour with water and land berths, a crane, slipways and a clubhouse opened in 2019 with terrace and sanitary facilities. Classes sailed include Optimist, ILCA, Pirate, Schwertzugvogel and 15er and 16er dinghy cruisers; youth training is held regularly together with SVOH. Each year the SCC hosts several ranking regattas, including the Osterhasenpokal, Dümmer-Dobben and Leineweberpokal. With more than 200 members, strong racing results and guest berths, the club is a firm anchor of the Dümmer sailing community.
History
Segler-Club Clarholz e.V. was founded on 27 December 1957 in Clarholz in the Gütersloh district. In the 1960s the club built its first sailing boats itself and chose Lake Dümmer as its home waters. Club history is closely linked to the Schomaker family: the first sailors from Clarholz found lodging with Lui Schomaker, and the first clubhouse, called Hotel Clarholz, was a Schomaker shed. In 1968 the present harbour on the western shore at Dümmerlohausen was completed; around 100 sailing boats lie there today. In 1982 Willi Schomaker and Jüffi Kramer won the European Championship of the P-boats on Lake Neusiedl, celebrated with a spontaneous festival in Dümmerlohausen. On 27 December 2007 the SCC marked its 50th anniversary with a comprehensive jubilee magazine. In 2012 the club boat Clara Holz was christened after a multi-year rebuild. The modern clubhouse was built in 2018–2019 and opened in summer 2019; the old flagpole had to give way and was replaced in 2025 by a new mast with a weather station. Over about 50 club years the SCC has hosted 20 International German Championships and one European Championship, most recently the IDM of the 15er dinghy cruisers in 2022. Member Jochen Wolfram competed at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the Star class and joined the German America's Cup team in 2007. Today the club has more than 200 members, including German and European champions, and is renewing the harbour sheet pile wall in 2026.

Modern clubhouse (2019) with mess room, terrace, sanitary facilities, showers, changing rooms and training room with tea kitchen and projector.
Activities
Racing with four ranking regattas each year, youth training together with SVOH, cruising, ice sailing on Lake Dümmer, club championships, harbour workdays and social life in the clubhouse.

Active youth section with monthly Sunday training together with SVOH youth, club-owned boats (Laser/ILCA, race Pirate, Opti) and Opti, Teeny and ILCA programmes; youth officer is Ingo Ermlich-Walbert.
