History
Allgemeiner Wassersportclub Bielefeld e.V. (AWB) runs its public water sports site at segeln-awbielefeld.de and centres club life on its regular venue and sailing on Lake Steinhude. Meetings and annual general meetings are held at Hotel Gasthof Klusmeyer in Heepen; the 2026 AGM took place there on 05.03.2026 at 19:30, and the 2025 AGM minutes are in the password-protected members' area. On Lake Steinhude the AWB provides members with a Fam dinghy in Mardorf at pier 19 of the campsite, available by arrangement with the treasurer roughly from mid-April to mid-October. After a major fire destroyed the campsite reception building in Mardorf, the entrance and reception were moved to Weidenbruchsweg (same entrance as the crane of sailing club SKM); members can still obtain parking permits and electronic parking cards at reception. The club website is maintained by the webmaster and includes public dates, DSV notes on the card-format recreational craft licence, and a password-protected members' section.
