Segelclub Stäfa
Segelclub Stäfa is a neutral sailing club on Lake Zurich in the Seegärten area of Stäfa, dedicated to sailing sport and social events. The Clubhaus Lattenberg site offers dry berths, 25 mooring buoys, a clubhouse with lounge and kitchen, lawn, fireplace, slipway, boat racks and a jetty. A core focus is junior development with training in Optimist, ILCA, 420 and 29er, plus regattas such as season opening, dinghy regatta, evening races and the ILCA points championship. Founded in 1967, the club is a member of Swiss Sailing and the Zurich sailing association and ranks among the active junior training clubs on Lake Zurich.
History
Segelclub Stäfa was founded on 18 October 1967 with Valentin Hess as first president and a municipal agreement to use the Seegärten site. In 1968 dry berths, buoys and a ramp were built; in 1969 the jetty and club grounds were inaugurated. The club joined the Zurich Lake sailing association in 1973. The clubhouse was built in 1982/83 and opened on 1 October 1983. The 1990s saw growing junior work and racing success; in 1999 the club went online. In 2003 the municipal assembly approved the clubhouse project; 2005/2006 brought groundbreaking, topping-out and inauguration of the extended clubhouse with renovated jetty and mooring. Membership reached 311 in 2007 (271 active). From 2011 the club hosted Swiss championships and later the Zurich Lake Cup. In 2014 Regula Helbling became the first female president. The 50th anniversary was celebrated in 2017. Today junior training, ILCA events, evening regattas and social fixtures such as the summer night festival and Chlausfahrt shape club life.

Active junior programme with progressive training in Optimist, ILCA/Laser, 420 and 29er, more than 25 training boats, special race training and a pathway to Swiss Sailing; trial sessions available.
