Segelclub STEWEAG
Segelclub STEWEAG (SCST) is a Styrian sailing club based in the provincial capital Graz with a history of more than forty years. The club grounds are at Packer Stausee in western Styria, a lake of nearly 60 hectares in a nature conservation area, reachable from Graz in about half an hour via the A2 motorway. On site there are a slipway, floating jetties and boat storage; the club calendar documents work parties and launching of Kielzugvogel and Korvette boats. A particular focus is youth work with several youth days each year, taster days and optional race training. The club organises its own yardstick regattas, a moonlight regatta with summer festival and ILCA club championships, and takes part in regional STSV events at Packer Stausee and other Styrian waters.
History
Segelclub STEWEAG (SCST) is a Styrian sailing club based in Graz and, according to its own account, looks back on more than forty years of history. Since its founding, promoting sailing has been central, with a strong emphasis on youth work. Several times a year youth days are held, to which children of members and other young people interested in sailing are invited. The club grounds are at Packer Stausee in western Styria; the nearly 60-hectare lake lies in a nature conservation area and is reachable from Graz via the A2 motorway towards Klagenfurt in about half an hour. The club is registered in the Austrian Central Register of Associations under ZVR number 727411995. Club life includes work parties at the slipway, floating jetties and boat storage as well as preparing the grounds at the start of the season. Sportingly, SCST organises its own yardstick regattas, a moonlight regatta with summer festival and ILCA club championships, and takes part in Styrian formats such as GPC and SGPC at Packer Stausee, Samitzteich and Grundlsee.
