History
Segelclub Oberer Zürichsee was founded in 1975 and has been active on Upper Lake Zurich in Nuolen ever since. In 2000 the club celebrated its 25th anniversary as the largest sailing club on the upper lake. The 40th anniversary followed in 2015; in 2025 SCOZ marked 50 years with a festive event. The clubhouse is on the Kibag Kiebitz marina site. The club is a member of Swiss Sailing, the Lake Zurich Sailing Association and the Canton of Schwyz sports association. Most members focus on cruising; juniors, young actives and older members race successfully. Youth sailing courses for children from age eight are offered with partly club-provided equipment. The club regularly organises spring and autumn regattas, Buchberg Derby, Upper Lake Zurich Race Week and a sailing fun day, and takes part in the Swiss Sailing League; in 2022/2023 SCOZ sailed in the Challenge League with J/70.
