Segel Club Burevestnik-NT e.V.
Segelclub Burevestnik-NT e.V. (SCB-NT) is a sailing club founded in 2018 in the Swabian district town of Nürtingen near Stuttgart. The club promotes sailing in many forms and plans as well as organises sailing trips and regattas on Lake Constance, the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean. Members are supported in training for the official recreational boat licence and the German coastal skipper certificate of the German Sailing Association; by arrangement and for a fee, non-members are also assisted. Besides cruising and regatta participation such as the German Company Cup, youth sailing pilot projects form part of the programme. Since its founding by seven enthusiastic sailors, enthusiasm and crew cohesion on board sailing yachts have shaped club life.
History
Segel Club Burevestnik-NT e.V. (SCB-NT) was founded in 2018 by seven enthusiastic sailors from the Swabian district town of Nürtingen near Stuttgart. Even before the formal founding, activities on Lake Constance and the Baltic Sea were documented: sailing on Lake Constance near Lindau in 2015, Lake Constance tours with Bavaria yachts in 2016, a Baltic Sea trip with a Beneteau Cyclades and voyages to Rügen. In 2018 the club undertook a longer passage from Heiligenhafen to Saint Petersburg on a Dufour 460. In 2019 followed the youth sailing pilot project on Lake Constance, participation in the Dragon Boat Cup, and a debut at the German Company Cup in Flensburg on a Bavaria 37, where the crew gained experience despite challenges such as calm and a steering failure and affirmed its will to return. According to the statutes, the club’s purpose is to promote sailing in diverse forms, including planning and running trips and regattas on Lake Constance, the Baltic and the Mediterranean, and support for recreational boat and coastal skipper licence training. Today the club sees itself as a community of like-minded sailors combining enthusiasm, crew cohesion and the romance of sailing.
