Smygehuks Båt & Segelklubb

Smygehuks Båt & Segelklubb is Sweden's southernmost boat club, located at Smygehuk harbour in Smygehamn at the southern tip of Sweden. The club aims to make the sea accessible to everyone – whether sailing, fishing or water-skiing – and maintains a clubhouse, piers and shared harbour work. The programme includes a summer sailing school for children from age eight, regular Thursday club sailing and Tuesday member meet-ups with fika. Founded on 17 February 1977, community life, harbour upkeep and welcoming guest boats define the club at Sweden's southernmost point.

History

Smygehuks Båt & Segelklubb (SBSK) was founded on 17 February 1977 and is Sweden's southernmost boat club. Based at Smyge Hamn in Smygehuk, it welcomes everyone who enjoys sea, boats, beach and harbour. Its goal is to make the sea accessible for sailing, fishing and water-skiing. Over the years the club has cared for piers, mast crane and harbour facilities in dialogue with the municipality; dredging of the harbour entrance and south of the T-pier is carried out regularly. The activities committee organises parties, escort sailing, boat flea markets and children's events; a building group plans larger clubhouse projects. In spring 2024 members Björn, Peter and Simon brought home a new club boat. The sailing school offers summer courses for beginners and experienced sailors from age eight. Member meet-ups with fika and shared maintenance, Thursday club sailing and guest-boat hosting with harbour hosts are part of everyday club life.
