Società Vela Oscar Cosulich
Società Vela Oscar Cosulich (SVOC) is an active sailing club in Monfalcone on the Italian Adriatic coast. The club shapes the regional regatta scene with events such as the 52nd edition of the Regata Città di Monfalcone – Memorial Massimo Vischi in May 2026, the Monfalcone – Grado – Monfalcone passage race in June, and the Trofeo Sergio e Santo Morin for the Snipe class in July, held as a national regatta. For Optimist youth sailors, the club organises the I Selezione Zonale Optimist Divisione A for qualification to the Italian championships. The annual Veleggiata Sociale "Tutti al Mare" brings members together for shared cruises in a friendly atmosphere. Children aged 6 to 9 can take part in free open-day trial sessions. Members also benefit from the "Cerca e Offri Equipaggi" service for finding crew members.
History
Società Vela Oscar Cosulich is rooted in Monfalcone and has organised regattas on the Adriatic coast for many years. A notable milestone is the Regata Città di Monfalcone – Memorial Massimo Vischi, whose 52nd edition takes place in May 2026 and is regarded as a prestigious event for sailing enthusiasts. The club continuously promotes youth sailing: young sailors compete in Optimist zonal selections that qualify for the Italian championships. Through initiatives such as the 5×1000 programme, the society supports the development of young sailors and sporting activities. The club hosts social gatherings in its own restaurant hall, including talks with guests from professional sailing such as the Luna Rossa team, and offers members digital services such as the "Cerca e Offri Equipaggi" platform for matching crews.
