Sejlklubben Sundet
Sejlklubben Sundet is an open sailing community in Svanemøllehavnen on the Øresund in Copenhagen Ø. The club operates a clubhouse at Svaneknoppen 2, its own hardstanding area, workshops, a service building and a certified sailing school under the Danish Sailing Association. Activities include racing on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, para sailing with 2.4mR boats, women's sailing, sea kayaking, the Ballad group with the cruising yacht Vesla, and support for KØS youth sailing. In 2026 the club celebrates 125 years; regattas such as Sundet Rundt are central to the racing programme.
History
Sejlklubben Sundet celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2026, making it one of Copenhagen's long-established sailing clubs. It is based in Svanemøllehavnen, Denmark's largest marina with around 1,200 berths, jointly owned with Kjøbenhavns Amatør Sejlklub and Øresunds Sejlklub Frem through Svanemøllehavnen A/S. Due to construction of the Nordhavn tunnel, club activities are temporarily split between Svaneknoppen 2 and Sejlklubben Sundet Nord at Baltikavej 11 for the sailing school. In September 2025 the clubhouse suffered a fire. Racing has always been central; the club regularly hosts Danish championships. The para sailing section offers sailing for people with physical disabilities. Since 2024 there is a women's sailing network. For young sailors the club supports the independent youth club KØS.
