History
Rzemieślniczy Jacht Klub Poznański is based on Lake Kierskie in Poznań and maintains its pier at ul. Wilków Morskich 45. Club life includes the annual ceremonial season opening with flag raising and a gathering in the hangar, as well as organising regattas on Lake Kierskie. The club co-organises the Poznań City Sailing Cup as part of the centenary of sailing in Greater Poland and hosts the team race O Dzwon, in which clubs from Lake Kierskie compete for the Great Cup of Lake Kierskie and the Bell trophy. In the Wspomnień Czar section the club documents historical sea voyages: in June 1984 members took part in the cruise of s/y Generał Zaruski to Riga; accounts by Rafał Czajka and Jerzy Mainka describe passport checks, encounters with Soviet warships, the stay in Riga and subsequent storm sailing on the Baltic. The maritime section also covers navigation lights, IALA marks, Baltic lighthouses and GMDSS training. On the lake itself the club publishes information on water quality and the limnology of Lake Kierskie.
