Real Club Náutico Roquetas de Mar
Real Club Náutico Roquetas de Mar is a traditional Spanish yacht club on the Andalusian Mediterranean coast in Roquetas de Mar (province of Almería). The club offers harbour and shipyard facilities, a sailing school, two swimming pools, paddle tennis courts, a gym and club rooms with a tavern and multipurpose hall. Sporting activities include racing in Optimist and ILCA 4, summer campus and playgroup for children, adult sailing courses, a long-running social fishing league, as well as paddle tennis and swimming. Juniors and adults benefit from regular training, competitions and social events such as the traditional members' dinner. With hundreds of voting members and active participation in Andalusian and national regattas, the club is a firm anchor of the sailing scene in the Poniente Almeriense.
History
Real Club Náutico Roquetas de Mar (also Club Náutico Roquetas de Mar, CIF G04009551) is the official yacht club of Roquetas de Mar on the Costa de Almería. The club runs its own facilities with harbour, shipyard (varadero), sailing school, two swimming pools, paddle courts, gym, tavern and multipurpose hall. Over the years it has become an active centre for racing and social life. Optimist and ILCA 4 teams regularly compete in provincial championships, Andalusian cups and national events; in 2024 the club returned to the Spanish sailing championship after more than eight years. It also hosts major regattas such as the Andalusian Optimist Championship and the Provincial Optimist Championship. In parallel, a social fishing league has run for many years (18th edition in 2026). Traditions such as the annual members' dinner, Santa Ana championships in fishing and paddle, and summer courses shape club life. In March 2024 a new board was appointed after an electoral process. The 2022 general assembly recorded 844 voting members; social titles and fee increases with free gym and paddle access for members were also decided.
