Real Club Náutico Torrevieja
Real Club Náutico Torrevieja (RCNT) is a long-established Spanish yacht and sailing club on the Mediterranean in Torrevieja (Alicante). Located on Paseo Vista Alegre, it operates harbour facilities with berths for members and visiting boats. The club offers dinghy and cruiser sailing, rowing, sport fishing, dragon boat, gym and pool, plus the Sensaciones Náuticas nautical school. Youth and racing programmes shape daily life, including Optimist, Europe and ORC teams with national and international results. Founded in 1966, the club marked its 60th anniversary in 2026 as a sporting and cultural institution of the city.
History
Real Club Náutico Torrevieja was founded in 1966. In July 2026 the club celebrated its 60th anniversary with a gala honouring founding members and honorary presidents. Since its creation, RCNT has become a cornerstone of watersports on the Costa Blanca and has taught generations sailing and other nautical disciplines. The club is also a cultural and social meeting place: exhibitions, concerts, lectures, literary events and charity initiatives take place in its premises. Sportingly it is active in dinghy and cruiser sailing, rowing (Olympic and beach sprint), sport fishing and dragon boat. Junior Optimist sailors, Europe and ILCA competitors and ORC cruiser crews represent the club nationally and internationally. Signature events such as the Trofeo Euromarina Optimist, Europe class Europeans, Regata Estrella de Levante, Olympic Week, Open Internacional de Pesca a Dúos La Purísima and the Festival Internacional Dragon Boat define the calendar. In 2026 members and the local community celebrated the diamond jubilee and paid tribute to the founders and honorary presidents Tomás Lanzarote Llorente, Tomás Martínez Domenech, Manuel Espinosa Maciá and José Antonio Manresa Albero. Today the club combines sporting excellence, training and commitment to the environment and civic life in Torrevieja.
