History
Founded in 1952, Real Club Náutico de El Puerto de Santa María has been a sporting and social landmark on the Bay of Cádiz for over seven decades. On the Guadalete River, it combines sailing, fishing, canoeing and tennis with social services for members. Since the early 1970s it has organised Semana Náutica de El Puerto de Santa María, Regata Juan de la Cosa and other traditional regattas attracting crews from across Andalusia. In 2015 it was named best nautical institution and ranks among Andalusia’s leading clubs. The sailing school was relaunched; about fifty children train in Optimist and Laser with provincial and regional success. Canoe teams also win medals at Andalusian championships.
