Real Club Náutico de Cádiz
Real Club Náutico de Cádiz is a historic sailing club at Punta de San Felipe on the Bay of Cádiz and ranks among the oldest yacht clubs in Andalusia and Spain. Founded in 1868, it operates a sports marina with pontoons, dry storage, a slipway, a clubhouse with bar-restaurant and a sailing school with an active regatta programme. The focus is on the Snipe fleet, ORC cruiser racing and youth development, including Optimist training and regional championships. Since renewal from 2019 with strong membership growth and facility upgrades from 2020, the club has again become a sporting, social and cultural landmark for the city.
History
Real Club Náutico de Cádiz (RCNC) was founded in 1868 and is registered as a private non-profit sports club with the Junta de Andalucía. As one of the oldest nautical clubs in Andalusia and Spain, it is based at Punta de San Felipe in Cádiz. The Snipe class has been closely linked to the city since the 1970s; Flota Snipe Cádiz was refounded in 2000 on the former club fleet and fully reintegrated into the Náutico in 2020. It is among Spain’s largest and most active Snipe fleets and was named SCIRA Snipe Fleet of the Year in 2021. In 2019 a new phase began with many new members: membership rose from 160 to 518. From 2020 the club modernised its facilities; in summer 2022, coinciding with the Spanish Snipe Cup, a semi-Olympic and children’s pool, solarium terraces, event halls, offices, gym and changing rooms were opened. Today the club holds two harbour-authority concessions, a marina with piers for about 173 berths, dry harbour, slipway, restaurant and social rooms, and runs a dense programme of dinghy and cruiser racing plus social and cultural activity.

Active sailing school with Optimist focus and youth development; junior crews compete in Snipe regattas and regional championships.
