Lega Navale Italiana sezione di Trieste
Lega Navale Italiana Sezione di Trieste is the official Trieste section of the Italian Naval League, based at Molo Fratelli Bandiera by the historic Lanterna lighthouse. The association offers sailing tuition for juniors and adults, a racing squad and the club Formula 660 boats Diabolik and Eva. Alongside sailing, angling, environmental initiatives and diving form part of the programme. Regattas such as Coppa dei due Fari Memorial Guglielmo Lodato and Trofeo Stogaus shape the sporting calendar; the section also runs courses for the Italian patente nautica boat licence.
History
Lega Navale Italiana Sezione di Trieste uses the historic Lanterna at Molo Fratelli Bandiera 9 in Trieste as its club seat. The website and galleries document years of club life: sailing regattas such as Coppa dei due Fari Memorial Guglielmo Lodato, Trofeo Stogaus, winter championships, match-race formats and social races of the racing squad. In parallel, a youth sailing school and adult sailing courses, summer courses for young people and training for the patente nautica are offered. Photo archives show events from 2017 to 2026, including open days, environmental actions such as beach and underwater clean-ups, and participation in formats like Barcolana Young. The section’s motto is “Scoprire e amare il mare” – discover and love the sea.
