Integrativer Segelverein Bodensee e.V.
Integrativer Segelverein Bodensee e.V. is a charitable association dedicated to promoting and integrating people with disabilities in sailing on Lake Constance. At Moos harbour, the club offers sailing activities with Mini-12ers, the restored Varianta and a support motorboat in suitable weather on weekdays and at weekends, accompanied by professionals with experience in disability work and sailing. The programme includes Monday and Friday sailing, the FIT FOR SAILING training offer and events such as the Inclusive Sailing Days in Konstanz during Bodensee Week. Since its founding in 2004, the club has become established with support from the municipality of Moos, including a swimming pontoon and a permanent berth. Enthusiastic helpers with sailing experience are sought for inclusive activities with groups with and without disabilities.
History
Integrativer Segelverein Bodensee e.V. was founded in 2004 to enable people with disabilities to enjoy sailing. Over the years, the small club gained many partnerships, friends and members and continued to develop and establish itself. In 2024 the club celebrated its 20th anniversary; the anniversary celebration took place in October at the Bürgerhaus Moos, looking back on experiences and memories. Special thanks go to the municipality of Moos and its mayor Mr Krauss, who always supported the club, including the construction of the swimming pontoon. On 30 June 2017 restoration of the Varianta K3 began; after many hours of work she shone in new splendour, but in November 2017 osmosis was discovered on the underwater hull when moving the boat, requiring extensive sandblasting and GRP repairs. An initial guest berth in Moos harbour was replaced by a permanent berth; the Varianta is used alongside the Mini-12ers for Monday and Friday sailing and is popular with larger leisure groups. In 2025 the support boat was fitted with a new electric motor after the petrol engine became increasingly unreliable after twenty years, jeopardising safe support for sailors, especially children and young people with disabilities. In 2025 the club carried out twelve sailing activities with external groups. The club is registered as a charitable association at Amtsgericht Radolfzell under number 391; the registered office is in Moos.
