Hou Sejlklub
Hou Sejlklub is the sailing club based at Hou Lystbådehavn in Odder on Denmark's east coast towards the Kattegat. The club uses the marina clubhouse and harbour facilities at Strandgade 13 and offers dinghy sailing for young sailors, a two-year sailing school, match racing on J/80 yachts and friendly Wednesday club racing. For sailors aged 8 to 15, Optimist dinghies are available; training and safety follow Dansk Sejlunion guidelines. In addition, the club organises cruising trips, the legendary Tunø Rundt regatta and works closely with Hou Maritime Idrætsefterskole and Egmont Højskolen. Since the renaming from Hou Bådelaug in 2020 and the merger with Hou Match Center, the club shapes sailing life in Hou.
History
Hou Match Center (HMC) was founded in 2010 as a cooperation between Hou Maritime Efterskole (HMI), Egmont Højskolen and Hou Bådelaug. In 2014 HMC merged with Hou Bådelaug; activities and cooperation with Egmont Højskolen's water sports centre and HMI continue. In 2020 Hou Bådelaug changed its name to Hou Sejlklub. Since then the club has expanded youth sailing and match racing: sponsors such as Sparekassen Danmark and Spar Nord Fonden as well as DIF funding enabled among other things a chase RIB with electric motor, new Optimist dinghies and used FEVA dinghies. Since 2024 instructor Annika Früend, together with students from HMI's sailing line, has been responsible for dinghy training. The club is a member of Dansk Sejlunion and Danske Tursejlere and hosts the well-known Tunø Rundt race each year.

Facilities
Based at Hou Lystbådehavn: clubhouse and harbour facilities run by the marina; club tools (pop rivet gun, rope burner, rig tension gauges, battery charger, C-Pole) for loan; dinghy fleet with Optimist and other club dinghies; eight J/80 for match racing in cooperation with HMI and Egmont Højskolen.

Youth section
Active youth section (dinghy sailing) for ages 8–15 with focus on safety and sailing enjoyment; 9 Optimist dinghies, including 5 new Winner 3D Flex, plus further club dinghies; training with chase boats and pier watch.
