Ho Bugt Sejlklub

Ho Bugt Sejlklub is a versatile sailing club in Hjerting near Esbjerg on Ho Bugt in the Wadden Sea National Park. The club offers dinghy sailing for all age groups – from Optimist for juniors to experienced sailors in Wayfarer dinghies, with the club operating Denmark's largest Wayfarer fleet of around 45 boats. In addition to dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and year-round bathing with sauna, there are sailing schools for adults and young people as well as the weekly Onsdagsmatch as a fixed racing event. The facilities include a clubhouse, dinghy area, storage building, boat hall, heated changing rooms, hot showers and a sauna with space for up to 15 people. Dedicated volunteer work, active parental involvement in the youth section and numerous community activities shape the vibrant club life on the water.

History

Ho Bugt Sejlklub has developed into one of Denmark's most significant dinghy sailing clubs and operates the country's largest Wayfarer fleet with approximately 45 boats. Club life revolves around dinghy sailing for all age groups, regular Wednesday match racing, sailing schools for children and adults, and a broad range of water sports including windsurfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. The club facilities at Sanatorievej 2 in Hjerting include a dinghy area, clubhouse, storage building, boat hall, sauna and changing facilities with heated rooms and hot showers. The Dagmarklubben brings together 15 to 20 seniors for weekly meetings on Tuesday mornings throughout the year and organises summer cruises to Langli, Skallingen or along the coast. Twice a year, standerskift and work days are held where members from all sections jointly maintain facilities, the boat house, sauna and equipment. Many members hold lifelong memberships, underlining the strong community and unique camaraderie within the club.

Youth section
