History
Flensburger Segel-Club e.V. is based in Quellental, Glücksburg, directly on the Flensburg Fjord and is registered with the Flensburg district court (No. 610). The club maintains a long regatta tradition visible in events such as the 116th Flensburg Fjord Week in 2026, the XXVII Mosquito Cup, the XXIII Culix Cup and the 33rd Wednesday Evening Internal Regatta (MIAR). The youth section is self-administered under its own constitution with the approval of the FSC board and currently has more than 100 members aged 6 to 21; as the only club on the Flensburg Fjord, FSC employs a full-time sailing coach supported by volunteers and licensed youth coaches. The youth section competes in the German Junior Sailing League and offers group training from Optimist beginners through Opti League and regatta groups to ILCA, 420er and 29er groups plus a cruising group. Adult sailors race in ORC and ORC Club ratings at Fjord Week and other events; trophy traditions such as the Blue Ribbon of the Flensburg Fjord, the NOSPA Cup and the Flensburg Pilsener Cup reflect the club's regatta history. Harbour facilities, boatyard, slipway, webcams and the Seasabella restaurant form the hub of club life, with club service duties involving members of all ages in maintaining the site.
