Erster Segel- und Tauchclub Nürnberg e.V.

Erster Segel- und Tauchclub Nürnberg e.V. (1. STN) is Nuremberg's sailing club with a charming clubhouse in the St. Johannis Hesperidengarten. The historic half-timbered house from the 17th century on a sandstone foundation was reoccupied after one and a half years of renovation and serves as a meeting place for club meetings, get-togethers and events such as the Johanniskirchweih fair. The club boats – including a Korsar, Mimi and a K1 catamaran – are moored at Lake Brombach in Enderndorf and can be booked by members. The club regularly offers sailing training with a free coach on Sundays, the Segelwissen kompakt series on the monthly Wednesday evening and monthly sailors' get-togethers in front of the clubhouse. In 2026 the club, founded around 25 years ago, celebrates its anniversary with the inauguration of the renovated clubhouse. Information on sailing certificates and training is available via ausbildung@erster-stn.de.

History

Erster Segel- und Tauchclub Nürnberg e.V. was founded around 25 years ago and celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026. The club uses a small half-timbered house on a sandstone foundation, built in the 17th century and renovated several times over the years, as its clubhouse. The opportunity arose to use this charming gem in the Hesperidengarten in Nuremberg's St. Johannis district as the home of the newly founded club. After one and a half years of construction and renovation work, the clubhouse could be reoccupied; the painting work was completed and the upstairs furnishings restored, while the kitchen unit is still to be installed. The club boats operate on Lake Brombach in Enderndorf – including Korsar, Mimi and a K1 catamaran, which are brought seasonally from the Spalt boat hall to Enderndorf and launched. A traditional highlight is the Johanniskirchweih fair in front of the clubhouse, where the club hosts guests over three days with specialities from regional suppliers. The club offers sailing training with a free coach, the monthly Segelwissen kompakt series and regular sailors' get-togethers for members and interested parties. In September 2026 the inauguration of the renovated clubhouse together with the founding anniversary is planned.
