Egå Sejlklub
Egå Sejlklub is an inclusive sailing sports club affiliated with Dansk Sejlunion and Dansk Idrætsforbund, with around 500 members at Egå Marina near Aarhus on Aarhus Bay. The club welcomes sailors of all ages and skill levels – from beginners to ambitious racing sailors. The dinghy section in the northern marina area offers Optimist training for children aged 8 to 15, as well as ILCA, Finn, OK and Europe dinghies for juniors and seniors. For keelboats and multihulls, the racing committee organises a wide regatta programme with Tuesday evening races, singlehand races on Mondays and doublehand races on Wednesdays. Two clubhouses, a sailing school with three training boats, a workshop and joint cruises such as the Whitsun trip and Løvfaldstur round out the diverse club life.
History
Egå Sejlklub is organised as an inclusive sports club under Dansk Sejlunion and Dansk Idrætsforbund, with the overall aim of promoting interest in sailing for sailors in sailboats, motorboats and dinghies. The club has grown to around 500 members and covers the full spectrum from beginners to ambitious elite sailors. The dinghy section is located in the northern part of Egå Marina right by the slipway and dinghy park; the Optimist department teaches young sailors in several performance groups from Super C through B to A sailors. In the large dinghy section, juniors and seniors sail ILCA dinghies, and Europe, OK, Finn and Contender dinghies are also integrated into the training programme. On the racing side, the club has established itself through events such as Egå Tun Star, the 2026 H-Boat Danish Championship at Egå Marina and regular evening races. At the 2024 general meeting, the club decided to rejoin the Sailing Aarhus collaboration with Kaløvig Båd Laug, Aarhus Sejlklub, Sejlklubben Bugten, Marselisborg Sejlklub and Aarhus Windsurfer klub. The sailing school with three modern training boats, two clubhouses along the harbour promenade and a well-equipped workshop in the service building between the clubhouse and the road shape the club's infrastructure to this day.
