Dyvig Bådelaug
Dyvig Bådelaug is the sailing and boat club at the natural harbour of Dyvig on the island of Als in Denmark and serves as the members’ shared information and club platform. The club runs harbour facilities with a clubhouse, harbour master’s office, mast sheds, winter storage ashore and a kayak section, and provides practical guidance for visiting sailors via the Dyvig Havn pages. The programme ranges from junior training and Wednesday racing to cruising, safety courses and volunteer harbour maintenance. At the 70th anniversary, flood protection, the club burgee and club history were celebrated together; the club magazine E-Gaf documented club life for decades.
History
Dyvig Bådelaug has a long club history at Dyvig harbour on Als and celebrated its 70th anniversary during a “3 in 1” festive day that also inaugurated the new flood wall and raised the club burgee. After the storm surge of 20 October 2023, the board developed a mobile flood defence with Noaq Boxwall elements, a generator and submersible pumps; sponsor Linak A/S funded the purchase. The club magazine E-Gaf first appeared in 1982 and ran for 35 years with 204 issues until February 2016; the collection is to be handed to the local history archive in Nordborg. More recently the club built the Badeborg bathing platform in 2022, installed a fish nursery under the harbour terrace with Als Stenrev, and tested environmentally friendly antifouling such as Silic-One on the harbour dinghy. Wednesday racing, tours with Danske Tursejlere, winter courses on emergency communication and fire safety, and active junior and kayak sections continue to shape club life today.
