Deutscher Touring Yacht-Club e.V.

The Deutscher Touring Yacht-Club e.V. (DTYC) in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg has been a traditional home for sailors of all levels since 1909. The picturesque club grounds offer a large harbour with 121 berths for yachts up to about 12 m, a clubhouse with 40 bunks and two dinghy slips for quick water access. The club covers club and high-performance sailing in classes including Optimist, 29er, ILCA, 420er, H-Boot, Dragon, J/80 and 45er Nationaler Kreuzer. Youth development, school sailing, Schifferrat training, cutter sailing and numerous regattas shape the programme. As a founding member of the Segelbundesliga and a frequent host of international championships, the DTYC combines sporting ambition with vibrant club life at the Casino restaurant.

History

The Deutscher Touring Yacht-Club e.V. was founded in 1909 and has always understood itself as a yacht club offering as many facets of sailing as possible. More than 116 years of development shaped the club on Lake Starnberg into a sport-oriented venue with strong youth and high-performance support. The DTYC looks back on eight Olympic qualifications by its members, was German Champion of sailing clubs in 2015 and 2016, and won the Sailing Champions League in 2016. As a founding member of the Segelbundesliga, the club ranks among the most successful regatta clubs in the region. It repeatedly hosts world, European and German championships in Olympic and international classes and serves as a regional performance centre in cooperation with the Bavarian Sailing Association. Historic yachts moored at the club grounds live on through the Classics im Touring regatta series. An engaged board, professional office and volunteer bodies such as the Schifferrat and youth committee secure the DTYC for decades to come.
