Catamaran und Surfclub Müggelsee e.V.

The Catamaran and Surf Club Müggelsee e.V. (CSCM) is a sailing club on the eastern shore of Lake Müggelsee in Berlin, right next to the Müggelsee lido. Under the motto "We sail what is fast", the club brings together the catamaran and surf scene with free spaces for surf equipment and catamarans as well as three club boats that can be used even without owning a boat. At the club grounds on Fürstenwalder Damm, the club offers club regattas, the traditional 77-mile regatta on Lake Müggelsee, regatta training, catamaran beginner courses and youth trial training. The club is a member of the German Sailing Association (B 130) and actively participates in the Müggelcup series as well as in national catamaran regattas. Regular seminar series, work parties, summer tours and winter training shape club life around fast sailing on Lake Müggelsee and beyond.

History

The Catamaran and Surf Club Müggelsee e.V. (CSCM) celebrated its 30th anniversary and is thus one of the established sailing clubs on Berlin's Lake Müggelsee. The club is registered with the Berlin-Charlottenburg district court under VR 16141 B and is a member of the German Sailing Association (B 130). The club grounds are located on the eastern shore of Lake Müggelsee at Fürstenwalder Damm 850 in Berlin-Rahnsdorf, near the Müggelsee lido, within a water protection area. A central highlight of the club year is the annual 77-mile regatta on Lake Müggelsee held on a Saturday in July, where catamaran teams sail 18 laps scored by yardstick for the perpetual trophy donated by Gerd Friemel; this is traditionally followed by the CSCM summer festival. In addition to its own club regattas and participation in the Müggelcup series, the club organises regatta seminars, regatta training, catamaran beginner training and youth trial training. In winter, alternative training formats such as RC sailing with Micro Magic model boats and winter sailing season activities are offered. Severe weather events such as storms "Ylenia" and "Zeynep" have damaged the club grounds in the past. The club actively seeks new members and offers an open community for fast sailing with catamarans and board sports.
