Club Nàutic S'Arenal

Club Nàutic S'Arenal (CNA) is an established nautical club in S'Arenal near Llucmajor on the Bay of Palma in Mallorca. For around 75 years the club has combined sailing sport, harbour operations and maritime culture, and ranks among the Balearic Islands' leading regatta venues, including as a host of the Trofeo Princesa Sofía. The offer includes moorings and shipyard facilities, a sailing school with summer courses for children and young people, the organisation of national and international regattas in classes such as 420, ILCA and 49er FX, plus cruiser sailing and an active angling section. Members use the club restaurant, social events and digital services such as the virtual members' office. The club develops young talent, is home to top racers such as Paula Barceló, and holds ISO certifications for quality and environmental management.

History

Club Nàutic S'Arenal looks back on around 75 years of history and is firmly rooted in the S'Arenal community near Llucmajor and the Bay of Palma. The Trofeo Princesa Sofía, held since 1968, has grown from a regional event into a world reference regatta in Olympic sailing; the CNA is one of its central competition venues. The club was officially selected by the International Six Metre Association as host of the 2028 European Six Metre Championship. Over the decades the CNA became a hub for youth and elite sailors: racers such as Paula Barceló, world vice-champion in 49er FX, belong to the club. It regularly hosts national championships including the Spanish 420 Cup, the Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta as a prelude to the Princesa Sofía, and international events such as the Liga Iberdrola. Beyond racing, the CNA maintains cruiser sailing traditions such as the Trobada Social a Cabrera, an active fishing section, and social formats including Nit de la Vela and Gran Día de la Vela. Since 2020 a solidarity commission has coordinated social, environmental and marine conservation initiatives. Quality and environmental management are backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and the Tofolet environmental education programme. Today the CNA brings together harbour, shipyard, sailing school, restaurant and digital member services under a strategy focused on sport, innovation, sustainability and the member experience.
