Club Nautique Alpin Serre Ponçon
Club Nautique Alpin Serre Ponçon is a water sports club with over 60 years of experience in Embrun in the Hautes-Alpes, ideally located between Embrun's Plan d'eau and Lake Serre-Ponçon. Operated as an association under French law 1901, the club runs a French Sailing Federation certified sailing school at three sites in Chadenas and Savines-le-Lac, a 3-star lakeside campsite, nine chalets and a group gîte. The programme ranges from playful discovery courses for children from age four through Optimist, catamaran, windsurf and wingfoil classes to SB20 trips and wheelchair-accessible Echo 90 outings. The sports club trains six racing teams and regularly competes in regional and national regattas. Highlights include the Tourisme & Handicap label, the Miniji Racing Team and, since 2021, CQP Initiateur voile instructor training.
History
Club Nautique Alpin Serre Ponçon has more than 60 years of sailing experience on Lake Serre-Ponçon and continues to grow, including a new base next to the harbour master's office in Savines-le-Lac. The club operates three locations in Embrun (Chadenas on the Plan d'eau and on Serre-Ponçon lake) and in Savines-le-Lac, combining a sailing school, sports club, campsite and holiday accommodation. The sailing school is certified by the French Sailing Federation and holds a label for courses for people with disabilities; the club is also approved by the Tourisme & Handicap Association. The Miniji Racing Team brings together sailors with and without severe disabilities and trains once a week in May, June and September, representing the CNA in regional and national regattas. Since 2021 the club has hosted CQP Initiateur voile training in cooperation with the Ligue de Voile Sud. The sports club helps train the department's sailing elite and welcomes sport classes from Embrun college and high school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in spring and autumn.
