Alliance Dijon Arc Voile
Alliance Dijon Arc Voile (ADAV) is a French sailing club on Lac d'Arc sur Tille near Dijon, dedicated since its founding to making sailing accessible to as many people as possible – young and old, leisure and racing sailors, with or without disabilities. The club runs a multi-discipline sailing school covering windsurfing, single- and double-handed dinghies, catamarans, collective boats and stand-up paddle, with extensive club equipment including 100 windsurf boards, 15 catamarans, 45 single-handed dinghies and 8 HandiVoile boats. Labels such as École Française de Voile, École de sport, École de compétition and CDOS inclusive-sport certification support leisure sailors, racing teams, schools, groups and people with reduced mobility. The programme includes memberships from age 7 with weekly courses, holiday courses from age 5, group programmes, equipment hire from March to November, adaptive sailing, regatta organisation and training on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons for activity members.
History
Since its creation, Alliance Dijon Arc Voile (ADAV) has pursued one primary goal: enabling as many people as possible to go sailing, regardless of age, gender, performance level or physical ability. Based at Lac d'Arc sur Tille near Dijon, the club has grown into a multi-discipline sailing centre offering windsurfing, single- and double-handed dinghies, catamarans, collective boats and stand-up paddle on inland waters. It welcomes racing sailors and leisure practitioners, holiday groups, schools, universities, corporate groups and people with disabilities, and holds labels from the Fédération Française de Voile (École française de voile, École de sport, Club sport loisir, École de compétition, Point location) as well as the Fédération Française Handisport and CDOS as an inclusive « valides handicapés » club. Over the years the fleet has been steadily expanded: today the club provides 100 windsurf boards, 15 catamarans, 45 single-handed dinghies, 6 double-handed dinghies, 2 collective boats, 8 HandiVoile boats, 10 radio-controlled sailboats, 40 paddles and 5 safety boats. The club is supported by 40 volunteers, two full-time staff, apprentices and seasonal workers, and regularly organises regional and inter-regional regattas in windsurfing, dinghy sailing and radio-controlled boats.
