Club Nautique de Coutainville
Club Nautique de Coutainville is a sailing school and watersports association in Agon-Coutainville on the Normandy coast, combining sailing with rescue and first-aid training. At 104 rue des Dunes, a modern, accessible building houses a diverse fleet including catamarans, trimarans, windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing foil, land sailing, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. The programme ranges from single sessions and holiday courses for children from age five to year-round club training on Saturdays and Wednesdays in several disciplines. School groups benefit from classrooms, showers and a picnic area, while a pool facing the sea supports the youngest participants. The 2020–2024 project focuses on sporting development, environmental awareness, inclusion and the club's role as a leading watersports actor in Normandy.
History
The sailing school of Club Nautique de Coutainville is an association under French law of 1901, combining sailing instruction with rescue and first-aid training (Sauvetage et Secourisme). As part of the 2020–2024 associative project, the club pursues sporting development through competitions on all glide and sailing craft as well as land sailing and rescue, the creation of a members' charter, internal training and marine environmental awareness. A strong focus is placed on accessibility and inclusion, including a trimaran adapted for people with motor or mental disabilities, acquired with support from the Rotary Club de la Manche in a project with APEI Centre Manche; a second Magnum trimaran was funded by a private donation. The club aims to be a major watersports actor in Normandy, promoting learning, conviviality and respect for the marine environment.
